Residents and officials are getting excited as we come closer to the date for the annual Michigan City Kiddie Parade.
The parade which will feature kids 0-12 years of age, will be held on Saturday, June 23 at 2:00 p.m. and will begin on Franklin Street at 7th Street and travel north to 4th Street, ending at the Michigan City Public Library.
Judging will be held at 1:00 p.m. where contestants will be judged on their costumes, decorated wagons, decorated bikes, pets, and organized groups.
The Kiddie Parade is part of a mid-year “Summertime Christmas” celebration that has been hosted by the Michigan City Police Department since 1955.
As part of the celebration, the Michigan City Public Library will be showing the animated movie Surf’s Up 2: Wave Mania (rated PG) from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the library.
