A Michigan City man was pronounced dead after a fatal crash on Johnson Road Sunday afternoon, deputies say.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:16 PM Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Johnson Road and CR 500 West.
According to reports, 65-year-old Dwayne Nash of Michigan City was traveling north on CR 500 West along with 45-year-old Joseph Childers.
Reports say Nash failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with 69-year-old Dennis Pulver of LaPorte traveling eastbound on Johnson Road.
Deputies reported that Nash sustained no injuries and Pulver reported having pains but was not transported for treatment, however, Childers suffered from an upper-body injury and was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.
During the investigation, deputies determined that alcohol was not a factor in this incident and that weather conditions were a contributing factor.
Nash told deputies that due snow squalls throughout the day, his visibility was reduced.
The report did not say if any parties were charged.
