MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Council Members approved funding for repairs to Cleveland Avenue between Barker Avenue and Michigan City Boulevard during the July 3 City Council meeting.
City Council members voted unanimously to approve the appropriation of excess funds totaling approximately $69,000 toward the repair and improvement of Cleveland Avenue.
Sharon Carnes, the 5th Ward City Councilwoman, stated that the excess funds are a result of the city completing several budgeted projects in-house as opposed to utilizing third-party companies.
The newly available funds will be used mostly for pavement upgrades on Cleveland Avenue.
