Park Board Approves Design for New Boardwalk at Fedder’s Alley

City officials approve designs for a new boardwalk at Fedder’s Alley.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. — Michigan City Park Board approved designs for the new upcoming concrete boardwalk that will connect Fedder’s Alley to Lake Michigan giving residents a convenient easy access to the beach from Fedder’s Alley.

According to the final design plans which can be found HERE, the boardwalk consists of a 48-foot diameter shelter, an observation deck, and bench seating along the boardwalk.

City officials stated the project is still in its early stages and so far only the designs have been completed.

The next step in the project is to seek funding through various grants and philanthropy.

Once funding is secured for a budget, the city will open bidding for contractors.

The boardwalk project is a step toward improving Fedder’s Alley and providing residents and visitors alike a convenient way of getting to the beach line from Fedder’s Alley.
